IT support specialist – local staff contract – at the Permanent Danish Representation to the EU

The Permanent Representation of Denmark to the EU is hiring for a position as IT support specialist. (local staff contract)

As our new colleague, you will be responsible for IT-support operations at the Representation. You will perform operational and developmental tasks and will ensure the local implementation at the Representation of the global IT strategy of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Tasks also include supplier management and IT purchases. Within normal office hours, you will act as service desk for colleagues from the representation and the embassy as well as for colleagues on travel from Copenhagen. The 24/7 IT support service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes over outside normal office hours. The position also implies servicing and quality assurance of IT installations in Danish delegation premises in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg as well as in the official Danish residences in Brussels. The position entails close cooperation with the IT services unit in Copenhagen as well as with the Head of Administration at the Representation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish diplomatic representations operate on a number of platforms and with extensive use of mobile solutions. Relevant platforms are Windows 10, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 and Sharepoint. We lay great emphasis on security awareness pertaining to the risks that implementation of IT-solutions entail.

We will hire a colleague who is open-minded and very keen on seeing the possibilities and the potential that IT-systems and their user-friendly implementation can bring in promoting efficiency in a highly professional organisation. As IT support specialist, we expect you to be service-minded, good-humoured, flexible and ready to meet customers at their very different levels of IT competences. Workdays may vary in length and may occasionally entail phone support outside normal office hours, but will as a general rule respect the working time norm of 37 hours/week.

Experience from previous IT support functions and relevant education will be an asset, but if your IT-profile is more self-taught and you feel highly motivated by the proposed position, you should not hesitate to send an application.

Working languages are Danish and English. Command of French is also an asset.
